Before going to college, I only wanted to do one thing — travel. With the help of my parents and my university, I was able to delve into my passions and see little bits of the world. I quickly got the travel bug — literally and figuratively (yes, I had a parasite) — and couldn’t see myself in a conventional job market. With my double major/bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Spanish from Roger Williams, I felt like my options were limitless.

I have always been the type of person to never settle for something that I thought wasn’t good enough for me. In the job world, this meant waiting for weeks, months or even years, before I sent out my resume to prospective jobs. I grew up in a small town on Cape Cod, a five-minute walk from the ocean, a rocks toss to the nearest bar but surrounded by the influence of a hardworking, blue-collar community and that is one of the traits I pride myself on the most.

Working for my father didn’t start out easy but as the years went on, I learned to love the challenge and the father-daughter bonding that we endured every day. Working on a competitive charter fishing boat taught me a lot about myself as a person and a lot about the fishing industry.

Being a prominent female in the industry proved to be difficult but also left me well-respected and well-regarded by folks who have come and gone fishing on the Columbia with my dad and myself.

At 24-years old, I have attained knowledge and experience that most individuals won’t see in their life time. My time on the road with Field Trips with Robert Field came to an end in January of 2019 but I can’t help but feel grateful, humble and so ready for the next chapter of my life.

Starting off 2020 with Hogy Lure Company, I have plans, visions and endless possibilities in front of me that I am excited to share with you all as I continue to create, travel and blog about my experiences. Stay safe, stay healthy and stay positive as we fight life’s endless battles together. Battles I am excited to share with you all in hopes of touching a few lives.

Thank you for following along with me on this journey we call life!
